The Friends of Dormont Library believe that a robust Library is the cornerstone of our community. We are committed to providing service to the Library through volunteer work and community advocacy, as well as providing financial support for expanded programming and literacy initiatives.

The Friends welcome financial gifts, memorials, and endowments to benefit the Dormont Public Library.

Become A Friend

Support for the Library comes in many forms. The Friends are individuals who share a common goal of enhancing the library’s collections and services. Excited by this challenge, they work to promote the continued growth, expanded use, and sustained excellence of the library.

Membership Dues

  • Individual Annual Membership $5

  • Family Annual Membership $15

  • Founder’s Circle Lifetime Membership $25

As a Friend of the Library you receive:

  • Frequent email notification of library activities and events.

  • Invitations to Friends of the Library meetings.

  • Opportunities to attend author readings and guest speakers hosted by the Friends Group.

  • Your membership contribution and all other donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Dormont Public Library is an independent community library located in the South Hills which works to empower, educate, and inspire the members of the Dormont community and the surrounding Pittsburgh area through a wide offering of social, academic, and community-based programming. These programs help to establish the Dormont Public Library as a place of learning and growth.
